Utilizing an old, gutted pressure housing, a system was designed in order to fit inside the remaining shell of the housing that could create differential pressures. 

Design

Utilizing the gutted pressure housing and the remaining central pressure tank, a system of piping was routed throughout the interior of the housing connecting the central pressure tank to two back up tanks designed to function as extra reservoirs for air pressure in order to adjust the sensitivity of pressure adjustment. 

Execution

Using spare copper pipe and fittings, the design was executed within the housing connecting relief valves to pressure gauges and to the mount at the top used to connect the MVPT. During initial testing it was determined the reservoirs were excessive and were removed from the system altogether.

Results

The MVPT test fixture was a success for the purposes it was desired for. While not the most effective or precise test rig for the complexity of the MVPT, it serves the purpose perfectly for what it is needed for. The test rig has enough resolution to show fine data points on the MVPT and high enough pressure capabilities to cover a majority of the pressure range of the MVPT.
