4-20mA Board design
A full development cycle project designed to create a new spin on an old technique used measure oil well depths with acoustics both simply and with minimal hardware. Coupled with an acoustic device and receiver equipped with 4-20mA loop data transmitting, this board was designed to accurately take transmitted data and process it into usable voltage or current data that could be plotted using oscilloscopes or computer waveform software.

This board, and accompanying devices, allowed for such resolution of data that the depth of the well could be measured within inches of true depth and each pipe collar could be easily seen on a plotted waveform of board output.
MVPT Computer Board Current Draw Test Fixture
This project entailed designing a test fixture to verify computer board functionality for the MVPTs. By applying 4 Volts to the input terminals and depressing the button, the current measurements could be determined through the voltage plot read at the Oscilloscope output.
Based on the design of the board, proper functionality was determined if the current plot matched expected results. A non-functioning board would have current levels outside of the expected plot.
